Chicken momos are well-known street food in South Asia. These originated in Nepal, however, they got widely popular in other regions. - 250 gram minced chicken
- 1.5 tablespoon of minced garlic
- 1 large chopped onion
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1.5 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 table spoon black pepper powder
- Salt as per taste
- 3 table spoon cooking oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
To prepare the momos skin, add three cups of all-purpose flour, salt, and water to a mixing bowl. Mix them with your hands to make a lumpy batter, then take the batter out on a clean surface and knead to turn it into a smooth dough. Transfer it into a bowl and cover it with a lid. Then let it rest for 15 minutes at room temperature.
After 15 minutes, dust the surface with flour and put the dough over it. Divide the dough into four equal parts using a knife, and then roll the single part of the dough with the help of a rolling pin. Once the dough turns into a thin sheet, cut it in a round shape with the help of a cookie cutter.
In the center of the rounded sheet, put a bite-size portion of chicken filling the wrap the edges with one another. You can also use a manual momos cutter for wrapping them. One by one fill and wrap all momos.
Finally, heat a pot of water over medium flame, once the water gets boiled, put the greased steam rack in the pot. Then place prepared momos on the steam rack and cover them with a lid. Steam them for 20-25 minutes on medium-low flame.
Once the chicken momos are ready, dish them out on a serving tray. now you can serve them with chili garlic sauce or any sauce of your own choice.
