- Half kilogram tender beef cut
- One cup mushroom
- Two pieces minced garlic cloves
- One large onion
- Four tablespoon olive oil
- Two tablespoon butter
- One tablespoon all purpose flour
- Half cup heavy cream
- Four tablespoon sour cream
- One cup beef broth
- One tablespoon dijon mustard
- One tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- Black pepper powder to taste
- Salt to taste
- Chopped chive for garnish
- Boiled egg noodles or white rice for serving
Instructions
Before cooking beef stroganoff, prepare the veggies that you need for the recipe. Take a large onion and finely chop it after peeling the skin. Then take white or brown mushrooms and slice them into thin pieces.
Moreover, take 500 grams of beef and slice it into thin strips. We are using sirloin steak for the recipe. However, you can choose between sirloin steak, beef tenderloin, or boneless rib steak.
Once the beef strips are ready, heat a pan over a high flame and then pour four tablespoons of olive oil into it. Now add beef strips into the pan and cook them for 3-4 minutes from each side. Once the strips change their color, flip them and cook the other sides for more 2 minutes. Then dish them out in a bowl for later use.
In the same pan add two tablespoons of butter and let it melt over medium flame. After melting the butter, add chopped onion, mushrooms, and minced garlic into the pan. Then sautee them for 1 minute or until they are fragrant.
Once the veggies are sauteed, add a tablespoon of all-purpose flour into the pan. Then continuously mix it until it changes color. While whisking, pour beef broth to avoid lumps in beef stroganoff sauce. Pour heavy cream, and sour cream into the pan and whisk them to combine together. Let them simmer for 2-3 minutes.
While the mushroom sauce is simmering add spices into the pan. Firstly, add salt, then black pepper powder, dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce into the pan.
Finally, add cooked beef strips into the creamy sauce and thoroughly combine them. Cook it for 5 minutes on medium-low flame.
Once the beef stroganoff is ready, take off the pan from the stove. Garnish it with chopped chives, it’s now ready to serve, you can serve it along with steamed rice or boiled pasta. In both ways, it’s a delicious meal.
