How to Make Chocolate Scented Candles

Candle making is an easy fun activity that can be enjoyed at home once you get all the candle-making supplies and learn its steps, you can easily create any type of scented candle at your home. So it's not necessary to buy a costly candle-making kit you can do this with regular equipment available at your home.

  • Cocoa powder 1tsp
  • Hot water 2 cups
  • Pot
  • Stove
  • Bowl
  • Candle container
  • Spoon
  • Wick

Steps for Making Chocolate Candles

Step 1 Gather all Materials and Tools

First of all, gather all the above-mentioned ingredients and tools together to make your candle-making task start in an organized way then you don't have to rush for a single ingredient again and again when needed.

Step 2 Wash and Dry Candle Containers

Choose a container according to your choice, you can use a mason jar, old candle tin, or even used cups and mugs can also be used as candle containers. Wash the container with tap water and then let it dry, you can wipe them with a dry cloth or place them under sunlight for quick drying.

Step 3 Boil Water

So now take a Stainless Steel pot or any heatproof pot and fill it in half with tap water. Don't fill it to the top because you have to use it as a double boiler for melting soy wax flakes. Then place the pot on a low flame and let the water boil.

Step 4 Add Candle Wax and Crayons in a Bowl

Select candle wax you can use any type of wax that includes, soy candle wax, paraffin wax, or beeswax. Add wax to a heatproof bowl or jar then add brown color crayons to it.

Step 5 Place Wax Bowl in Boiling Water

Safely place wax bowl in boiling water and let it melt, keep flame from low to medium. melt it for 2 minutes or until the wax becomes thin, then stir the mixture with the help of a spoon. Step 6Remove Bowl from Boiler

Once the candle mixture is melted remove it from the boiler. It's advised to proceed with further steps once the bowl is removed from the boiler. You can also use the microwave for melting wax and crayon if you are using the microwave process for melting then microwave it for a maximum of 1 minute.

Step 7Add Essential Oil and Cocoa Powder

And add cocoa powder and your favorite essential oil to the mixture you can add, vanilla oil, lavender, chocolate oil, or peppermint oil according to preference.

Step 8Place the Wick in the Container

Take a candle wick and tie its one end with an ice cream stick or toothpick then place another end in a candle container.

Now candle container and mixture both are ready, it's time to assemble them. Pour the mixture carefully into the container and let it sit overnight. You can also add some flowers or dry leaves on top of it for a lavish look.

Step 9Remove Ice-cream Stick and Cut off Extra Wick

Once your candle is hard enough remove the ice cream stick from the wick and cut off the extra wick from the top of the candle. Your chocolate scented candle is now ready to use.
